    Emotional attraction flag

Emotional or ecstatic attraction is an umbrella term that encompasses many forms of attraction that exist on an emotional level, as opposed to physical attractions such as sexual, sensual, or aesthetic attraction. Emotional attraction could be broadly considered to be a desire to form an emotional bond a specific individual. An individual may choose to refer to their attraction as emotional attraction if they want to specify that the attraction is happening on an emotional level, but they either can't or don't want to be more specific than that. Forms of attraction in this umbrella include but are not limited to romantic, queerplatonic, platonic, and alterous attraction.[1][2][3][4] Individuals who do not experience emotional attraction may identify as aemotional or nonemotional.

The emotional attraction flag was coined by a user going by Amnisty on December 22nd, 2020. The dark blue represents tutelary and templatonic attraction, the light blue represents cedural, sysplatonic, xenial, and dependplatonic attraction, the light pink represents romantic and doraric attraction, the dark pink represents queerplatonic and alterous attraction, and the purple represents parental, familial, amical, and platonic attraction. The white represents mental, noetic, and spiritual attraction, as these attractions often overlap with emotional attraction. The clover represents luck, as the feeling of being emotionally close to someone may make one feel special and lucky. The rainbow represents compassion, beauty, and promises that come from emotional bonds.
