Gendervir is an umbrella term for all genders that are male, male-aligned, male-adjacent, or male-related in some way. Examples include, but are not limited to: binary man, demiboy, boyflux, nonbinary man, nixvir, proxvir, and agender boy (bxy). Gendervir is not synonymous with masculine gender or masculine-aligned identities, it is only for genders that related to manhood or boyhood.

The term and flag were created on May 17, 2020 by a Tumblr user who wishes to remain anonymous. Red is for boys. Orange is for non-binary boys. Teal is for male-aligned and male-adjacent identities. Light blue is for demiboys and trans boys. White is for multigender and genderless boys.
