Punctumcollectors or Crowcollectors are Termcollectors who feel the need to use all the labels that one of their genders, sexualities, or pronouns encompasses. Punctumcollectors may feel uncomfortable using umbrella terms, as they feel too broad, or they might collect umbrella terms because it encompasses one of their labels.
Some examples of punctumcollectors are:
- People who are non-binary and pansexual, and feel the need to identify as sapphic, achillean, and diamoric, because pansexual encompasses all of those labels.
- Someone who uses auxiliary pronouns and neopronouns, and feels the need to label themselves as neopronoun and auxiliary pronoun users.
- Someone who feels the need to have every aspect of their identity labeled, especially using micro-labels.
History
The term was coined by StariiArts on the 22nd of February, 2022.
Crowcollector was coined as an alternate term by Jeb_CC on the 25th of November, 2023. It was created to line up with the bird theming of collector terms. It is also a play on word for a 'crowding' of terms.[1]
Flag
The punctumcollector flag was also made by StariiArts on the 22nd of February, 2022. Black represents distress of constantly trying to find all the labels that fit the user, yellow represents longing for finding more labels, white represents having a lot of labels (of which a punctumcollector may have).
The crowcollector flag was created by Jeb_CC on the 25th of November, 2023. The purple and black resembles the colors of crows as well as the stripes from the ravencollector flag, the brown is taken from the kiwihoarder and turkeyhoarder flags, and white represents the white feathers of crows as well as the 'dense blizzard' of term crowding.[1]
