Maikogender, also known as HakaineMaikogender or MaikoHakainegender, is a xenogender under the UTAUloidgender umbrella related to the UTAUloid Hakaine Maiko in some way. This gender may or may not be capitalized as Hakaine Maiko's name, and can also be written as 破壊音マイコgender or マイコgender.
This may refer to a gender which changes when listening to music featuring Hakaine Maiko, a gender which feels validated by Hakaine Maiko, or something similar. This gender may be feminine-aligned or woman-aligned, based on Hakaine Maiko's canon gender. It may also be used by individuals who feel that Hakaine Maiko is the embodiment of one's gender, or who experience gender envy from Hakaine Maiko. It may also be a kingender for Maikokin individuals.
These are simply a few possible explanations of the identity; any gender related to Hakaine Maiko can be considered Maikogender.
History
Maikogender, along with its alternative names, was first coined on May 2, 2022, by a user who wishes to remain anonymous. The gender was first publicized on the LGBTA+ Wiki on Miraheze on May 3, 2022.
Flag
The Maikogender flag was designed on May 2, 2022 by the same person who coined the term, who wishes to remain anonymous. There is a version of the flag with a music notes symbol, as well as a version without it. The symbol was also created by this anonymous user on May 2, 2022.
The colors of the Maikogender flag were color-picked from an official image of Hakaine Maiko. The meanings of the colors are left up to interpretation, and do not have a strict meaning behind them. However, the creator of the flag personally describes the meaning of the stripes (from top to bottom) as follows:
- Red: connection to Hakaine Maiko
- Pink: gender euphoria
- Lavender: music
- White: inclusivity and validation
- Blue: heavy metal
- Purple: goth and alternative aesthetics
- Dark grey: gender envy
