    The europic flag.

Europic is a term for aromantic and other a-spec people that can be used to describe their ideal relationship. A europic person is somewhere inbetween callistic and iodic. Their ideal relationship would be more emotionally involved than what’s typically associated with friendship in western society, but they do not want to completely committed to their partner. They would not want to do things like co-habitate with their partner, and they wouldn’t want to plan their life around another person. They might do some typically romance-coded things like cuddling or kissing with their partner.

They may be interested in having a queerplatonic relationship, close friendship, or something similar. Their ideal relationship might also be a wavership, semiship, soft romo, or something else a "grey area" of relationships.

Europic can be used as an identity or it can be used to describe a relationship itself. For example one could say "I am europic." and they could say "I am in a europic relationship." If they're aroace, a europic person might also identify as oriented aroace or angled aroace.

    History

The term europic was coined by Tumblr user Thearoacespace on June 5, 2019[1].

    Flag

The flag was created by Tumblr user Thearoacespace on June 7, 2019[2]. The color symbolism is the following; Blue represents oriented aroaces. Green represents aromanticism and the aromantic spectrum. Yellow represents platonic relationships and feelings. Pink represents queerplatonic relationships, as well as alternate forms of attraction like alterous, or sensual attraction. Brown represents angled aroaces, brown is also another color used to represent platonic relationships.

There are two circles that represent the "closeness" of one's ideal relationship. The circles are overlapping but not completely.

    Etymology

The term europic comes from Europa, the moon of Jupiter. Europa's orbit is in between Io and Callisto (Ganymede is not used in for these terms).
