Transneutral is a gender identity where one identifies with neutral or unaligned gendered feelings more so than other (masculine and/or feminine) gendered feelings. They can be assigned male or female at birth. Trans neutral people are sometimes called MtN/FtN or M2N/F2N (male/female to neutral) depending on one's assigned gender at birth.
Examples may include:
- Non-binary people (who are not primarily masculine or feminine aligned)
- Agender people
- Deminonbinary people
- Neutrois people
- Stellarians
- Maveriques
- Genderfluid people who identify as neutral more often than masculine or feminine (such as eafluid).
- Any other non-binary person who is neutral aligned or unaligned.
Transneutral is sometimes used, not as a gender identity, but as a way to describe anyone who undergoes a medical transition process that is not fully transmasculine or fully transfeminine- either through surgery, hormone replacement therapy, or other methods. Under this definition, people who undergo transition to attempt to appear more neutral would be considered transneutral, regardless of their actual gender identity.
The feminine equivalent to transneutral is transfeminine, and the masculine equivalent is transmasculine.
