Rusthemaec, or burgundyhemaec (formerly burgundygender), is a gender in the hemospectrum system related to the rust/burgundy caste of trolls from the webcomic Homestuck. It can be defined as a rust/burgundy troll kingender, a gender related to the rust/burgundy caste’s societal role, a gender related to the aesthetics associated with rust/burgundy trolls, and/or a gender connected to being adventurous/curious, resilience, and death.
History
This term was originally coined as "burgundygender" on the Tumblr blog mogai-headcanons on September 6, 2018.[1] The flag was created a the same time.
It was later revamped with a new name and flag by the same Tumblr user on the Tumblr blog Neopronouns on November 10, 2020[2].
