Laimoromantic is an aro-spec identity where one is unsure if they're on the aromantic spectrum because they're not sure what romantic attraction is. It is a specific subset of quoiromantic. Examples of laimoromantic experiences include
- Not being able to distinguish between romantic attraction and other forms of attraction (sexual, sensual, etc.)
- Being unsure what romantic attraction “feels like" or how it applies to oneself
- Being able to use external sources to determine what romantic attraction objectively feels like, but not having any internal ways to know when one is feeling romantic attraction
- Someone who generally doesn't understand what the concept of attraction of any kind means to them, and so can't tell whether they feel romantic attraction
- Someone who has difficulty distinguishing between romantic attraction, romantic relationships, and different kinds of romantic acts (such as kissing, holding hands, etc.), so can't tell if they experience romantic attraction or if they only experience something else like a desire for romantic relationships or stereotypes
- Anyone who doesn't understand what romantic attraction is and/or feels like and feels like because of that, they don't know whether they feel romantic attraction and can't determine any specifications to their attraction
The sexual counterpart is laimosexual.
History and Etymology
Laimoromantic was coined by FANDOM user Reign of the breadsticcs on March 30, 2021. It is derived from the Yoruba word "laimo" meaning "unsure".
An alternate laimoromantic flag was made by FANDOM user Unfunny person420 on April 1, 2021. The flag has no confirmed meaning.
