Not to be confused with kuogender.
Kuōgender, also spelled without the macron o as kuogender, is a xenogender and subset of canisgender described as "a hound doglike gender, or a gender influenced by or compared to hound dogs in some way."[1] It can be considered a kingender.
Because of the use of kuogender as a klimigender, it may be preferable to use the first spelling to avoid confusion.
History
Kuōgender was coined by Tumblr blog xeno-aligned on April 17, 2019 along with a collection of other canisgender subsets.[1] The flag was released in the same post. Many canisgender flags have a pawprint in the center, which is also a feature of this flag.
Etymology
The root kuō- comes from the Ancient Greek word kuōn or kúōn meaning "dog". It is the basis for the word "hound" in English.[2]
