    The Intramasculine Flag

Intramasculine, or intra-masc is a term used to describe transgender/non-cis individuals who were AMAB and identify fully or partially as a masculine gender, or feel that masculinity strongly influences their gender. They may be male-aligned, mingender, or present masculinely, but still are not actually considered cisgender males.

They may have other, non-masculine genders as well, though typically one's masculine identities are more significant than one's non-masculine identities, or one wants to emphasize their masculinity or masculine identities.

This may be considered to AMAB counterpart to transmasculine. The feminine equivalent is intrafeminine.

    History

Intramasculine was coined by Instagram user @mogai.terms on March 18, 2021. It was made with the purpose of giving a label to AMAB masculine-aligned/man-aligned individuals, since transmasculine only applies to non-AMAB individuals.[1]

    Flag

The intramasculine was made at the same time that the label was coined, by the same person. Light yellow represents intersex and isogender intra-mascs, light blue is for intra-mascs who are only partially masculine, medium blue is for intra-mascs whose gender is very strongly masculine, and the dark blue in the center is symbolic of feeling masculine within and relating to ones non-cisgender identity.[1]

    Etymology

"Intra-" comes from the Latin word for "within".[1][2]
