Hyumogu is a gastrogender connected to tiny and cute animals, as well as the aesthetic of cuteness, sweets, candies, desserts, pastel colors and a general sweetness.
Etymology
The term comes from the Japanese onomatopoeia hyu hyu, written in hiragana as ひゅーひゅー, which represents the sound one makes when seeing something cute (similar to aww in English.) It also comes from the Japanese onomatopoeia mogu mogu, written in hiragana as もぐもぐ, representing the sound one makes when chewing.
History
Hyumogu was coined on the 11th of November, 2021, by Tumblr user pinkfruitgender, with the term's flag being released alongside it.[1]
