Gxrl (pronounced Girl-X), also known as Womxn (pronounced Woman-X), can be used in two different ways. The first way is a gender that is both female and agender/greygender or otherwise genderless. There are several ways one can be a gxrl, such as:
- Being multigender, with one gender being agender and one being girl.
- Being agender or greygender but being slightly a girl or having a connection to feminity, similar to demigirl or librafeminine.
- Being genderflux between feeling female and not feeling gender.
- One may also identify as a trans gxrl.
The second way is less common, and is using the word as a label rather than a gender, as an alternative way to say agender girl.
The masculine equivalent is bxy.
History
Gxrl was coined by themercyrose (also known as Ayumi-Hiro on DeviantArt)[1] in response to sadghostbxy coining bxy on Tumblr.[2]
Flag
The gxrl flag was designed by @sadghostbxy. The flag colors are a combination of the agender flag and transfeminine flag.[2] Black for agender, gray for partial gender,[3] and the pink colors are assumed to represent femininity or partial connection to femininity.
