    Boygender is a gender for those who identify with the term "boy", but reject manhood and/or feel disconnect from the term "man". It opposes toxic masculinity and embraces innocence, soft masculinity and non-binary masculinity and non-binary boyhood.

    History

    The term was coined by Tumblr user gender.gay on November 11th, 2019.[1]

    Flags

    The original boygender flag was created by Tumblr user gender.gay in the same post in which the term was coined. Its colour meanings are the following: purple blue represents feminine boys, both pale blues represent a younger version of masculinity, green represents a neutral feeling of boyhood, and yellow represents non-binary boys.

    Another boygender flag was created by Twitter user TurtRose on July 27th, 2021[2]. Pink represents femininity, white represents androgyny, cyan represents masculinity, bluish green represents rejection of manhood, grass green represents softness, and dark green represents rejection of gender binaries.
