    The aphysical flag.

Aphysical, also known as nonphysical, is an identity defined by a complete lack of physical attraction. One who is aphysical would not experience any form of physical attraction, and would by default be asexual, nonaesthetic, and asensual.

Aphysical individuals may still engage in activities traditionally defined by physical attraction, such as cuddling, sexual intercourse, or having physical relationships.

The opposite of aphysical is allophysical, where one experiences all forms of physical attraction. The emotional and tertiary attraction counterparts are aemotional and atertiary.

    Spectrum

Someone who experiences little, fluctuating, or atypical physical attraction or someone who only experiences certain types of physical attraction would be considered on the aphyiscal spectrum (aphys spec).

    Flag

The flag was created by Tumblr user mourningmogaicrew on June 4, 2021. The stripes are red, dark pink, orange, yellow, light pink, and purple to represent the physical attraction flag. The bottom stripe is black for not experiencing this form of attraction.

    History

The term was coined by Tumblr user mourningmogaicrew on June 4, 2021 to help a-spec individuals describe themselves.[1] Similar terms and experiences have been described by a-spec individuals in the past, especially on forums such as AVEN.
