Webpronounswap refers to a person who swaps between a given set of pronouns on the internet and a different set of pronoun(s) in person. It can be considered a subset to webgenderswap or websexualityswap. For example, one could use they/them in person, yet when on the internet they could use bun/bunself.
History
This term was coined by Fandom user Guns Før Hands on January 30, 2021 as a response to someone online who specifically requested for this term.[1]
Flag
The webpronounswap flag was created by Wikia user Dahlsie on January 31st, 2021.[2]
Periwinkle represents the online space, and is a colour featured one of the she/her pronoun flag, teal is a colour featured in the neopronouns, nounself pronouns, pronounfluid and he/him pronoun user flags, white represents the barrier between online and in person, yellow is a colour featured in the neopronouns, and emojiself pronouns flags and lime green represents the in-person world, and a colour featured in the they/them pronoun user flag.
