Webnomiswap refers to a person who swaps between a given set of names on the internet and a different set of names in person. For example, one could go by Janice in person, yet when on the internet they could go by Riley.
One may be webnomiswap for privacy reasons, or they may not be accepted for who they are in real life and feel safer using their real name (or no name at all) online.
History
Webnomiswap was coined by FANDOM user Uncertified Funny on May 20 of 2021, in response to the coining of webpronounswap.
Flag
The webnomiswap flag was created by Uncertifed Funny on May 20, 2021. The pink stripe represents names that are feminine in nature. Light green represents names that are neutral/androgynous in nature, as well as other names that have nothing to do with femininity, masculinity, neutrality, or androgyny. White represents the barrier between online and in person. Blue represents names that are masculine in nature. Gray represents namelessness.
