Hey there!
I'm Virgil, doer of things and maker of quiet changes in the background to make sure things run how they should. All the pronouns.
Projects I work on outside of the wiki are archived here, which should also explain my choice of name for this platform. Virgildoesthings, Virgildoesgae..... makes sense. I guess.
Who I am
Outside of the Wiki and Discord, I live in Zurich, Switzerland and have a suspiciously british accent, despite a command of both Bundesdeutsch and Schwiizerdüütsch. For the record, two completely different languages. I enjoy sports, filmmaking, gaming and my partner (they/them). Becoming aware of the wiki in late 2018, I think, I never truly engaged with the community simply because I wasn't aware there was one. In hindsight, I probably should have worked that out. Although it was probably better that I didn't, since it took me until the middle of 2019 to accept that microlabels might just make sense. I would not have been nice to have around before then, so I'm partially glad I made so little effort to join the community.
Labels I use include Asexual, Genderfluid, Panromantic and a few others. The label hunt never ends, so that's liable to change.
What I do
My work is currently focused on maintenance, but also community management - In the Discord, I'm fairly quick to sort perms, the wiki bot and also my self-hosted LGBTA News feed (which still needs a lot of work). Alongside Jeb I do most of the announcing, and work with the internals of the broken mess that is Discord. On the wiki side, I let those more experienced do the approvals and cover the less important pages that need fixing every now and then. That'll probably change when I get more confident, since I seem to have been given admin perms on here. I also write handy guides every now and then on how to do things on the wiki - the first one is about making pages, and I intend to add a few more in the same style soon.
