Traumasexual is a sexual orientation label for those who feel that their sexual orientation has been significantly influenced by their trauma. It was created as a broad umbrella term to include any change to one's sexual orientation that was caused by trauma. As such, this label is to be used only by individuals with trauma and/or PTSD.
Traumasexuals can be of any sexual orientation, romantic orientation, or gender identity. They can be allosexual or anywhere on the asexual spectrum.
Similar Identities
Due the broad nature of its definition, other more specific trauma-exclusive sexual orientations may also fit under this definition, and users of this term may use some of those terms as well. Some of these terms include, but are not limited to:
Flags
Original Traumasexual Flag
Both versions of this flag were made on 8/13/2022 by BloxBreak1000 in collaboration with the coiner of the term, Blockyrambles.
Meaning
Dark Blue (outermost stripes): Individuals with PTSD and C-PTSD
Light Blue (second outer stripe): Individuals with trauma
Purple Stripes: Sexuality
Interior Rainbow Stripes: These stripes are an edited version of the LGBT+ flag. Their inclusion is meant to represent the LGBTQ+ identity of the flag's intended users.
Triangular Symbol: This symbol is a slightly altered version of uppercase delta(Δ). In mathematics, the uppercase delta symbol is often used to show change in a changeable variable[1]. Likewise, the version in this flag represents the change that a user's sexuality underwent after developing trauma.
