Revision as of 09:09, 2 March 2021
Supragender, also called supergender, is a gender in which one's gender experience completely encompasses and exceeds a given gender. For example, a supragirl would feel that their gender includes being a woman, but also extends outside of that. It exists in, around, and beyond girlhood, possibly heading into the territory of other similar or "neighboring" genders, such a juxera.
History
Supragender was coined in early 2014, by Tumblr user Baaphomett. Later in the same year another user attempted to coin a term with the same name, it was later renamed to domgender/plurugender. Which has led to some confusion over the definition of the term.
Flag
The original flag was designed by Tumblr user krisseycrystal on August 15, 2014.[1] Another design was created by mogai-flag-central on December 23, 2018.[2] A third design was created by gender-resource on March 21, 2020 used the colors of the original flag.[3]
