Straight queer, also known as heteroqueer, queerhet, or hetroqueer, describes someone who identifies as both queer and straight. This term may include, but is not limited to:
- Straight trans people (transhet).
- Straight non-binary people.
- Strayt, contraic, enanteic or another form of "straight non-binary" person.
- Heterosexual and/or heteroromantic people who are also ace-spec and/or aro-spec people.
- Varioriented people with at least one identity being straight.
- People with a fluid attraction who sometimes are straight.
- Heteroflexible people.
- "Straight now but not forever" or "straight but with exceptions" people.
- Straight polyamorous people.
- Straight people in a queer relationship.
Not everyone who meets these qualifications or has a straight queer experience identifies specifically as "straight queer".
History
Historically, the term "straightqueer" was slang for a gay person presenting themselves in a metropolitan and "straight-passing" way.[1] By the early 2000s, the term and its known variations also applied to (assumed) straight people in queer meeting spaces.[2]

The current definition and first heteroqueer flag was created by Tumblr user beyond-mogai-pride-flags on June 29, 2019.[3] A simplified version of their flag was created by FANDOM user Homesick Moonstone on December 16, 2020.
The queerhet flag was created by Tumblr user xenogender-aligned on December 19, 2020.[4] The flag is a combination of the queer chevron flag’s style and colors with the straight flag’s monochrome color scheme. The different shades represent the vast spectrum of experiences queerhet can include. An alternate queerhet flag was created by Reddit user potaTARDIS_ on March 22, 2021.[5]
