[[User:Scourgeface|Scourgeface]] also created the same flag but with a white circle in the center. The circle is white because white is all light and therefore all colors, representing all pride flags. The circle shape encircles every identity/group that is not specified by the stripes, or for those who technically fall under a stripe but don't connect with it specifically (ie. nonbinary falls under transgender however not every nonbinary person identifies with being trans.) |

The vertical stripes of both of these flags were inspired by an Instagram comment by @sacha_rubinstein, in which they had made a straight flag (prior to them realizing they were bi) and they described that the "vertical lines were to distinguish it from non-straight flags." |

History
Historically, the term "straightqueer" was slang for a gay person presenting themselves in a metropolitan and "straight-passing" way.[2] By the early 2000s, the term and its known variations also applied to (assumed) straight people in queer meeting spaces.[3]
Flag
The current definition and first heteroqueer flag was created by Tumblr user beyond-mogai-pride-flags on June 29, 2019.[4] A simplified version of their flag was created by FANDOM user Homesick Moonstone on December 16, 2020.
The queerhet flag was created by Tumblr user xenogender-aligned on December 19, 2020.[5] The flag is a combination of the queer chevron flag’s style and colors with the straight flag’s monochrome color scheme. The different shades represent the vast spectrum of experiences queerhet can include. An alternate queerhet flag was created by Reddit user potaTARDIS_ on March 22, 2021.[6]
An alternate straight queer flag was created by FANDOM user Scourgeface on January 12, 2021. The lavender stripe represents trans individuals, the pink binary women and women-aligned individuals (including through a multigender experience), the yellow non-binary genders, the green aro-spec individuals, the blue binary men or men-aligned individuals (including through a multigender experience), and the purple ace-spec individuals.
Scourgeface also created the same flag but with a white circle in the center. The circle is white because white is all light and therefore all colors, representing all pride flags. The circle shape encircles every identity/group that is not specified by the stripes, or for those who technically fall under a stripe but don't connect with it specifically (ie. nonbinary falls under transgender however not every nonbinary person identifies with being trans.)
The vertical stripes of both of these flags were inspired by an Instagram comment by @sacha_rubinstein, in which they had made a straight flag (prior to them realizing they were bi) and they described that the "vertical lines were to distinguish it from non-straight flags."
