Rainbowforestic was coined by Mod Em on Tumblr account MOGAI Monarchs sometime on or before October 12, 2020, the term was coined alongside the term Bunterwaldian.^[1]

The rainbowforestic flag was designed by Tumblr user rando-pride-flags on October 12, 2020.^[2] The color meanings are currently unknown.
