The term prigender was coined by a user going by Weniviere, alongside prisexual, priromantic, and prideship on December 2nd, 2020. She decided to make these terms because of the consistent attacks among the community and the constant troll terms, and how those attacks effected her identities. She discovered that the amount of pride she feels within her identities changes how they feel and react, hence finalizing her decision to coin said terms.
