Polyinterpretarian is a mutogender and subset of Interpretarian. It is defined as when someone's gender is perceived differently by multiple individuals, the individual identifies with more than one but not all genders.[1] A person who is Polyinterpretarian may have an interpretation of their own gender.
Examples include:
If individual X is female but is perceived by individual Y as male, perceived by individual Z as a demigirl, and perceived by individual W as agender, individual X now identifies as a male demigirl.
If individual X is male but is perceived by individual Y as female, and perceived by individual Z as agender, individual X now identifies as an male agender female.
History
The term was coined by discord user light hearted sam#9023 on 10 June 2022.[1] The name was suggested by discord user cherrybirb#7221[3].
Flags
The first flag, made by user Four00am, was inspired by the polygender flag. The alternative flag was made by discord user cherrybirb#7221.[2]
Etymology
The prefix poly- comes from the Greek prefix polus, meaning "many". Interpretarian is a play on 'Interpretation' and the suffix -ian, which means 'to belong to.'
