Polyflexible is a term for individuals who mainly seek out a polyamorous relationship, but are willing to experiment with a monogamous relationship due to interest or questioning. Unlike an identity such as ambiamorous, polyflexible people have an established preference for polyamorous relationships, however are still open to monogamous relationships primarily for experimental purposes, however they may have other reasonings.
The opposite of polyflexible would be monoflexible.
History
The earliest known appearance of the term "polyflexible" dates back to 2015. However, the words first official appearance is currently unknown.
Flag
The polyflexible flag was created by Ms. Carley Noel on February 12th, 2021. It is a combination of the monogamy and polyamory flags, in similar vein to other -flexible flags.
The alternate flag was made by Tumblr user felix-makes-flags on December 21st, 2021.[1]
