Pluviparian is a gender in the Scene System that can be described as, “A gender that feels like an upcoming storm, where the rain is just starting to fall and thunder rumbles in the distance”. Its imagery is “The sky takes on a foreboding orange tint as it swallows up the sun. The rain starts to fall. There isn’t a creature to be found- they can sense something isn’t right. The ground shakes just a bit, and thunder can be heard miles/kilometers away.”
History
Pluviparian was coined from June 30, 2021 to July 1, 2021 by a retired fandom user, and later reclaimed with permission by FANDOM user NyxIsSus on 31st July 2021.
Flag
The Pluviparian flag was made by the coiner, one day after the creation of the term. The colors represent the aesthetics of an upcoming storm, with the oranges specifically representing the tint mentioned in the imagery and in the concept art.
An alternate pluviparian flag was designed by user Cilantrouble on June 28, 2022. The flag takes inspiration from both the concept art and the described imagery.
Etymology
Pluviparian comes from a spelling of the Latin word for “rain” (Pluviam) and the Latin word for “small” (Parvus).
