Platoweird is a term for when one experiences platonic attraction, but in a non normative way. Individuals who use the term may or may not consider themselves apl-spec. The sexual counterpart is erosweird, and the romantic counterpart is romoweird.
History
The term platoweird was coined by tumblr user whoopsie-collective August 1st, 2024 along with the terms erosweird and romoweird.[1]
Flag
The platoweird flag was posted in the terms coining post. According to the coiner, the yellow represents the aplatonic community and their flag, the off-white represents how the individual who identifies as platoweird's attraction is considered "off", and the pink represents attraction.[1]
