▲Philosexual is the embodiment of “the heart wants what the heart wants” in regards to attraction. Philosexuals do not care what gender or sex they are attracted too, but they may not experience attraction to certain genders, or any gender at all. Philosexual people are open to the idea of being with any gender or sex, but don’t always feel drawn to anyone of that identity. Unlike omnisexuality and pansexuality, philosexuals don't have to like every gender. If they felt attraction to a certain gender, they would be fine with it. That does not mean they like all genders.
The term philosexual can be used as a fixed identity, or it can be used as a placeholder for people who are questioning their identity. Once they find a term that fits them better, they may drop the philosexual label.
The romantic counterpart is philoromantic.
