The term nesgender was coined by an anonymous user via the Tumblr account genderstalgia, November 12th, 2020.[1]

The nesgender flag was created by Tumblr user genderstalgia, November 12th, 2020. The grey gradient is to represent the overall disconnect from gender, with the two small “gender” lines in between to show that while one uses this gender label, they don’t actually connect with it.
