Mutedgender, otherwise known as gendersilent is a gender that isn’t loud, it stays silent, or hidden, even. No one knows what one is, or even notices what one is supposed to be. It is quiet and hidden, in plain sight.
There is masculine-leaning silence, feminine-leaning silence and unaligned-leaning silence.
History
This term was coined by Tumblr user coining-things on 31st July, 2019.[1] The flags were created on the same day.

The color meanings for the mutedgender flag are as follows:
- Light purple: the faint humming of silent areas (masc)
- Dark purple: The weight of the silence (fem)
- Black: Total Silence (unaligned/nonbinary)
