    The mistgender flag.

Mistgender or mistic is a non-binary xenogender and aesthetigender that is hard to see or invisible, similar to mist, despite still being present. Mistgender can feel thick or thin and have any texture, color, or composition and can include of other genders as long as they are diffused and spread out within the mist or part of the mist itself or attached to it. The inability to grasp onto the sensations of gender or genders can be because of trauma, neurodivergence, or mental illness.

Mistgender is not necessarily a weak or vague gender, like other vapor and smoke genders, such as calighn, often are. It can be felt just as strongly and clearly as any other gender, although not always.

Mistgender can be used as a modifier, such as mistboy or mistgirl.

    History and Flag

The term was coined by Tumblr user pastelroswell in a Tumblr ask and posted by uncommongenders on October 15, 2018.[1] The flag was created by Tumblr user hazard-system on March 5, 2020.[2]
