Maedic, formerly called asterian, describes women who are attracted to non-binary individuals (WLNB). This attraction may or may not be exclusive, and some users may use the label in order to prioritize attraction towards non-binary individuals. Maedic is an umbrella term like sapphic, and while it isn't often used as a label on it's own, it can be if the user chooses.
History
The term asterian was coined by deactivated Tumblr user @orbisian-prinxess. It was coined on February 10th, 2018, around the same time as astroidian. The flag was also designed by them, with an unknown meaning.[1] After it came out that the user in question was heavily anti-MOGAI, the Tumblr blog beyond-mogai-pride-flags created a new label and flag for the same purpose, called maedic,[2] and the term asterian was since reclaimed from its anti-MOGAI roots to describe mesquin individuals.[3]
