The term is synonymous with [[LGBTA+|LGBT]], and was designed to be a simpler version of it, since MOGAI does not list out all the identities included it is inclusive of all minor, and lesser known identities, and does not have to add extra letters, like is commonly seen with the LGBT acronym.
