Lunian refers to someone who is mspec lesbian. It may be used as shorthand, an umbrella term, or be an identity of its own. It is considered a companion to solian, stellian, mesrien, and others. Someone who is lunian may identify with both lesbian and bi, pan, ply, omni, any other mspec identity, or just mspec in general.
History
Lunian was made by Tumblr user kenochoric on January 14, 2021.[1] Solian was coined at the same time, but the lunian flag had been created earlier on December 8, 2020.[2] The lunian flag may also be called the deep sea mspec lesbian flag, or the lunar mspec lesbian flag, as it is based on both the moon and the sea. The flag has no known stripe meanings, and is instead meant to be a parallel to the solian flag. Similarly to solian, mesque, and others, lunian is a part of the Astral Alignments, which is a large collection of mspec labels.[3]
Lunian's alternate flag was made by Tumblr user kenochoric on September 9th, 2021, and has the same meaning as the original.[4]
