Llumsexual is a sexual orientation on the asexual spectrum in which someone experiences sexual attraction without wanting this attraction to be reciprocated, or wanting a stronger bond with those they are attracted to, but if that bond becomes stronger, the sexual attraction may disappear. A llumsexual individual may feel sexual attraction and want it to be reciprocated, but only when it is towards someone for whom they did not feel an initial attraction to, or that attraction was very slight, even if only after having created a sentimental bond.
The romantic equivalent is llumromantic.
History
The term was coined by two Wiki users through the account Twisted.Koebi on September 11, 2021. The flags were created by the same account on the same day.[1] It was originally coined as lumsexual; however, the name was changed after discovering an existing term with this name.[2]
Flag
The llumsexual flag has six stripes. The first stripe represents platonic love, the second stripe represents closeness, the third stripe represents spirituality, the fourth stripe represents comfort, the fifth stripe represents vitality, and the last stripe represents sexuality.
Etymology
The prefix llum- comes from the word 'epiphyllum,' which is the name of a plant.
