    The Ipsosex flag
    The alternate Ipsosex flag

Ipsosex is a sex label for "cis intersex" individuals. It refers to intersex individuals who identify with the sex assigned to them at birth, but don’t feel like they fit under “cissex”.

They may want to acknowledge that they have different experiences from dyadic cissex individuals or highlight that while they identify with their assigned sex, it was still coercively assigned to them (CAFAB/CAMAB). They may also have undergone non-consensual surgeries, taken HRT, been assigned Intersex at birth (AIAB), or have any number of other experiences that could make them consider themselves non-cissex.

The coiner of the term stated that ipsosex could be considered or used as an altersex term for Intersex individuals who wish to use it as one, but it is not inherently an altersex label.

For the gender modality, see ipsogender. For the complementary term, see ultersex.
