Interpretarian is a mutogender and umbrella term in which someone's gender is interpreted differently by another individual.[1] They may have their own interpretation of their own gender, but they also identify as whatever the other individual interprets them as.[1]
Examples include:
- Person X identifies as a woman. Person Y perceives X as a man. Person X now identifies as a man.
- If person X is with multiple people with different perceptions, X may identify with all these genders, or may pick one.
- Person X is with multiple people with different perceptions, X may identify depending on which person X is focusing on at that time, if multiple, X may identify as one or multiple identities
- Person X identifies as a demiboy. Person Y perceives X as a woman. Person X now identifies as a demiboy woman.
Interpretarian's subsets are: Paninterpretarian, Polyinterpretarian, Monointerpretarian, and Percipigender

The term was coined by Instagram user vy_artt in Instagram DMs.[1]

Etymology
Interpretarian is a play on 'Interpretation' and the suffix -ian, which means 'to belong to.'
