Hallowgender is described as an aesthetigender related to the fun and silly parts of Halloween, such as dressing up, trick-or-treating, and costume parties. It is the opposite of halloweencoric.

The term was coined by Tumblr user asukazeppelinsoryu on October 5th, 2014.

The first hallowgender flag was created by an anonymous user and posted by DeviantArt user Pride-Flags on June 9, 2017. The second flag was created by Tumblr user euclidxxi on February 14, 2018.
