This term is applicable to both people who can control how their gender changes and to people who can't. The experience may or may not be influenced by a person's mood.
Gendersolid or genderfrozen do not usually refer to an own gender identity, but rather as a modifier to ones current gender
Please note that feeling gendersolid does not have to be a negative experience, it completely depends on the circumstances under which it occurs and on the feelings of the person experiencing it if it's an uncomfortable or comfortable state.
Gendersolid may also be humorously used for people who are not genderfluid, so long as it is not insulting.
