Genderbruised or Bruisegender is a gender that is sensitive and hurts like a bruise whenever explored. This can be caused by trauma, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, or other related neurodivergencies. Over time the “bruise” feeling can heal, but not always.

The term was coined by Tumblr user q-enneth on February 2, 2018.[1]
The flag was created by Tumblr user lesbian-on-ice on April 21, 2018.[2] Each stripe represents the coloration of a bruise as it heals.
