Evangeliongender, also known as evagender, is a xenogender as well as an umbrella term for individuals who are very close to or have a hyperfixation on the 1995 anime Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Reigender

Reigender, also known as ayanamigender, is under the evangeliongender umbrella, and it's a term for individuals who are close to or have a hyperfixation on the character Rei Ayanami, also known as the First Child.

Shinjigender

Shinjigender, also known as ikarigender, is the second subgender under the evangeliongender gender, and it's a term for individuals who are close to,or have a hyperfixation on the Third Child, commonly known as Shinji Ikari.

History

This term was coined by Discord user ik4ri (FANDOM user Shalnarkstan) on the old LGBTA Discord server on May 20th, 2021. Reigender was coined by the same user on the same date.

Shinjigender was coined by the same user on May 22nd, 2021.

Flag

The evangeliongender flag has the color palette of Evangelion Unit-01 on both versions of the flag, as well as the headshot of Unit 01 on the second version of the flag.

The reigender flag has the color palette of Rei on both versions of the flag, as well as a picture of her on the second version of the flag.

The shinjigender flag consists of Shinji Ikari in his plugsuit's color palette.
