Dryagender is a form of agender with a connection to an empty forest. While agender refers to a general sense of genderlessness, dryagender individuals may feel as if their gender is more akin to a still or even barren forest, seemingly devoid of wildlife.
History
Dryagender was coined by Tumblr user maromoroney on or before July 29th, 2016. The name is a combination of "dryad" and "agender", referencing forest nymphs that inhabit trees in Greek mythology.[1]
Flag
The original dryagender flag was designed by Tumblr user pride-color-schemes on July 29th, 2016. It uses the agender flag as a base, adding three washed-out stripes representing elements of a forest (water, plants, and earth).
Two alternate flags were designed by user Cilantrouble on June 30th, 2022. They are based on the original flag and retain the same meaning.
