Disconflux is an identity where one experiences fluid, fluctuating or changing levels of gender disconnect. It can be experienced by transgender and other cisn't individuals. One does not have to be genderfluid or genderflux to experience this.
History
This term was coined by FANDOM user ThatAnnoyingDemigirl (now ChaoticAroace) on the 12th of July, 2021, to create a label for FANDOM user MoreSushi's experience.[1]
Flag
The disconflux flag was created by user CrystalOwl on February 5, 2022. The black stripe represents the negative feelings associated with dysphoria, as black is typically associated with despair. The bottom, pale blue stripe represents the positive feeling of being free of dysphoria, as blue is typically associated with freedom. The three middle stripes represent the varying mixtures of dysphoric/non-dysphoric feelings.
Etymology
The first part of this term, discon-, comes from the start of the word disconnect. The end of the term, -flux, is a shortened version of the word fluctuate, commonly used in names of fluctuating identities.
