Devotioromantic describes an individual who craves a romantic relationship but struggles to feel romantic attraction, the Latin prefix devotio meaning "the act of devoting or consecrating".[1][2]
Devotioromantic is similar to cupidromantic and greyromantic. A devotioromantic individual may develop crushes for fictional characters, celebrities, or people they know in real life, but struggle to retain the romantic feelings for long periods of time. However when they do feel attraction, it may feel the same as any other alloromantic attraction. These struggles may or may not be due to trauma.
