Cenrell (pronounced sen-rell) is a gender identity that is on the neutral spectrum, but still has a strong connection to masculinity. It is different from demiboy, as it is not tied to being a man. It is connected to masculinity as a concept, which can include masculine identities, presentation, expression, pronouns, and orientations.
- Cenrellflux is a gender identity that is similar to cenrell, in which one is most comfortable on the neutral spectrum, but instead their connection to masculinity fluctuates. Masculine identities, presentation, expression, pronouns, and sexual or romantic orientations often fluctuate, but their gender identity remains static.
- Cenrellfluid is a gender identity that is similar to cenrell, in which one is most comfortable on the neutral spectrum, however their gender identity is sometimes fluid between identities outside of the neutral spectrum. Usually cenrellfluid individuals fluctuate onto the masculine spectrum but not always.
The term cenrell was originally coined by Tumblr user beyond-mogai-pride-flags on January 16th, 2018.
The original cenrell flag was created by the coiner on the same date that the term was coined. The original cenrell flag was based on the different skin tones found in the drell species in the Mass Effect game series, "since we’re mostly exposed to the boys of the [drell] race in the [Mass Effect] series".
An alternate cenrell flag was designed by Tumblr user feraltucute on July 4th, 2019. The blues represent varying intensities of masculinity, the greens represent the neutral gender spectrum and the white represents being void of gender or genderless. This is the most well-known/commonly-used version of the flag.
