Caligarian is a xenogender which can be describe as a gender that relates to the things that can be found in the dark, or creatures, usually monsters, that are partially or fully obscured by darkness or fog. This gender is mostly genderless, it can have ties to femininity, masculinity, or nonbinaryhood. It can also be completely genderless as well.
Subsets
- Cailgargirl - the fem-aligned version of caligarian
- Caligarboy - the masc-aligned version of caligarian.
- Caligarenby - the non-binary aligned version of caligarian.
Caligarflux
Caligarflux is the -flux version of caligarian, which means a person fluctuates and feels extremely gendered to not gendered at all while still relating their gender to the creatures practically obscured in darkness or fog.
Caligarfluid
Caligarfluid is the -fluid version of caligarian, which means a person fluctuates between fem-aligned, masc-aligned, etc while still relating their gender to the creatures found practically obstructed by darkness or fog.
History
This term is coined by St1tch3x on discord. The root caligo was used. In latin the word means twilight.
Flag
The flag was created June 14th 2021 by St1tch3x then redesigned by mediumnRARE on discord August 31st 2021. The dark gradient in the background represents the creatures, the lighter greys represent the fog, and the dark strip across the flag represents the darkness covering the creatures.
