Butchgender refers to the feeling that one's gender identity is tied to one being butch,[1][2] or a gender that can only be described as butch. This may be used in combination with other genders or used as a gender on its own. Butch has historically been used as a gender identity on its own by those who have complicated relationships with gender and/or womanhood due to being butch.
