Asteriagender is a xenogender that feels empty, endless, and/or full. It may also have qualities such as layers or feelings of complexity. It can be used alone or in addition to other genders, for example, asteriagender non-binary or asteriagender bigender.
History
This term was coined on January 8th, 2022 by Discord user ZOOM.[1] It was heavily influenced by spacegender.
Flag
The flag was created by the same user on the same day.[2] The flag now has confirmed meanings as of January 10th, 2022. The darker blue stands for xenic/xenogenders, the violet stands for masculine genders, the purple stands for non-binary and genderfluidity, the dark pink stands for feminine genders, the light pink stands for layered and infinite genders, and the white stands for genderless/agender and void-like gender.[3]
Etymology
The term stems from the name of the Greek Titaness, Asteria. She was the Titaness of fallen stars and nighttime divination such as divination through dreams and astrology.
