[[File:Aroqueer.png|thumb|The aroqueer flag]]An identity for anyone on the aro spectrum whose aromanticism is the most prominent or most well understood part their orientation. The ‘rest’ of an aroqueer person’s orientation can’t or won’t be defined more specifically than “queer”. Aroqueer is not simply aro + queer, as the aromantic aspect factors into the queer aspect - the aromanticism is part of the queerness, and the two are inseparable.
Aroqueer is for both people who can’t define their orientation beyond “aro” and “queer” and for people who can define their orientation further but refuse to.

History
Aroqueer was coined by tumblr user autcore on Dec 10th, 2019.[1]
Flag
The flag was coined by the same creator, in the same post. The green is the same as the one used in the aromantic flag’s first stripe, and is used to represent aromanticism, the aro community, and the entire aro spectrum. The yellow stands for finding joy in challenging amatonormativity, as yellow is a colour associated with happiness and yellow roses are associated with friendship and are an aro community symbol. The lavender stands for queer identity, the queer community, and queer aromanticism.
