Anthrosexual refers to someone who is attracted to humans regardless of their gender identity/expression. The term avoids referencing a particular sexual orientation or predilection towards a particular gender.<ref>Word of the Gay: "Anthrosexual" - Queers United

Anthrosexual and pansexual might be used interchangeably. The prefix pan- means "all" and "anthro-" means human, so the word anthrosexual might be considered easier to understand for people who don't know either term.
Another potential difference is that, while anthrosexual people are attracted to humans regards of gender, pansexual leaves open the potential to be attracted to sentient non-human beings. So while pansexual and anthrosexual are interchangeable in modern day reality, in science fiction or fantasy settings, and potentially in the future there is the potential to distinguish the two terms.
Another use of anthrosexual could come from someone having a fictosexual or fictoromantic identity as well. (Example: Anthrosexual cartosexual, the attraction to cartoon characters so long as theyre human.) So although anthrosexual alone means attraction to humans regardless of gender, anthrosexual combined with a fictosexual identity may not include all genders. (Example: Lesbian anthrosexual-animatesexual.)
